Check out the pictures of Aengus on My Page. This is a REAL UFO project. He sat on a shelf as just a head and body for seven (7) years! I finally decided I had learned all I was going to about hats and capes and shoes and it was beyond time to get him finished. I took a lot of inspiration from the Lord of the Rings movies, but he is his own character. I tell more about him on my blog at http://newsfromthebasement.blogspot.com
Now to choose another UFO. Don't worry, there are plenty! Who else has a UFO more than 5 years old? Can you identify why it is still sitting there?
Liz,
I have heaps! I stopped making and selling simple rag dolls about five years ago, and all the left over bits and pieces are still in boxes. When i am ready to face them again I will finish at least some of them off to put on fund raising stalls. In the mean time, I drag one out occasionally for a gift.
In the mean time, I am having too much fun just making what seems most interesting now, today, that I don't agonise over them.
There are quilt tops too, which I made totake to various classes as samples, which may never be finished, but everytime I part with one, or finish it and give it away, I need it for some reason!
I think of it all as my retirement fund! When we are poor old pensioners and can't afford to buy materials for new projects I can still work at finishing some of them!
There's a great idea! They are not UFO's -- they're insurance against the lean times! Maybe that's why Aengus took so long. He was waiting for me to retire!
