I'll be "mother" for the November swap, if no one minds.
In my part of the world it is spring and we have lots of baby birds around, to say nothing of those species yet to lay all doing their mating activities. On the other side of the world it is autumn and you have lots of birds migrating. So how about doing ATCs featuring birds or feathers?
Note; if you get a partner who lives in Australia or New Zealand then you cannot use real feathers, they are prohibited imports and the card is likely to be destroyed at the border.
Of course, if anyone else has ideas for the November swap then please post them and those interested can post their preferences.
Regards, Annette

I thought of you and feathers all week last week as I was traveling. At home I have feathers from turkeys I had thought about using on the ATC since November is our Thanksgiving holiday month and turkey is the traditional dinner for the holiday. But then in my travels I found seagull feathers on the beach of Lake Onatrio--one of our great lakes. I thought you might like a feather from a distinctive location. Then I found a crow feather in Auburn NY, where I was attending a quilting workshop. It is a city where crows gather in large murders in the spring and fall--thousands. I could send you the stories in the local newspaper about the crows so you could have an interesting story to go with the ATC. So many options!
I will be finishing my ATC for you this weekend and getting it sent off. You will have to wait to see which of the options I have chosen. Tee Hee

Your puffin has arrived! How really fun! Since puffins are North Atlantic birds
they live off the coast of both of our homes. I love that connection. Here is a picture of it.
Here is a hint about the theme I decided for yours. Check out this link:

It is just today going into the mail so it will be late but it is on its way.

Permalink Reply by Patricia Gellon on December 10, 2011 at 11:48 Hi Judith I received your beautiful ATC's. Thanks you very much. I love the story about crows. I didn't know anything about. It may be a surreal experience.
For me crows used to be very controversial, when I was a child in my country Argentina, crows were very uncommon where I lived, so there was a lot of superstition around.
Now living in Ireland they are part of my garden visitors. They stay there as they like and don't even flight away when you pass by. Imagine when I tell that to my mother who is still living in Arg., she asks why I don't kick them out. I laugh but actually I like them. their feathers and the way they walk and fight for their food. Of course probably I won't think this way if I lived in Auburn.
Thank you so much Helen. Your beautiful ATC arrived this morning just in time for me to take to my Embroiderers' Guild Christmas lunch. I showed some of the other ladies - and your postcard - they loved it - I told them all about the group but not many of them use the internet but one may join.
love LOVE ...your ATC Helen....ty Michele for posting it - ....great ideas!
