I was a bit tied up the past week with shopping and getting the children ready for school; Tahlia, your ATC is going out only today. It will most probably be late, so here's my birthday greetings to you first - Happy Birthday!!!I'm the 2nd birthday girl in Feb, on the 23rd. A bit more about myself - I'm Ellen from Singapore, a Chinese and just passed 40. DH is posted to China last year, I'm taking care of my 3 children with lots of help from my mother. I love crafts since young, have been tatting for about 12 years, that being my forte, I have done some designing and giving tatting lessons occasionally. As a busy mother with 3 schooling children and a full-time job, with so little time and so much to do, I usually go for small-scale projects and I can't leave the house without a shuttle or project in my bag so that I can tat whenever I have some minutes to spare.I learned about ATCs two and half years ago after swapping my first card with a fellow tatter in Australia. Since then, I have been steadily swapping both paper and fabric ATCs. I love using ATC as the platform to try new techniques, especially embroidery on fabric, simply because of the manageable size to work and to keep. My greatest pride is my collection of fabric alphabet ATCs which I did with tatted animals (I must take a photo of my A-Z ATCs one of these days). The other is paper doll ATCs with moving parts. Check out my blog for the projects I did and the swaps I received [I do try to keep up with the updating of my blog on a weekly basis :) ].As mentioned in my earlier post, I love flowers, butterflies, dragonflies. Peacocks and phoenix have a special place as my Chinese name means phoenix. I don't fancy geometrical or abstract designs, thus my usual tatting designs are asymmetrical floral scrolls. I even dream of venturing into jewellery designing! Being a proficient tatter, I learn to admire laces of all kinds.Ok, I'm starting to tat some flowers for Annette!

Ok, here's the 6th one - from Sharon!
A big Thank You to Sharon for the ATC and postcard!! Fabric postcards are precious to me as I only have just a few. Sharon did a colourful collage of butterflies, and cute to sew beads on the stamps - I never thought of that. As for the ATC, I like the layout. I made out a spider, but is the main design a floral scroll?
Dear Ellen,
Hopoe you had a great birthday!!!
I'm so sad....I hope my card arrives soon to you!!!!
Big hug,
Maria
Ellen - I hope my ATC to you has arrived safely.
I arrived home yesterday to find more envelopes from all over the world waiting for me. Wonderful, thank you so much everyone, and apologies for the delay in acknowledging all your hard work but I live in a different city during the week. The envelopes this weekend were from...
Maria – an extremely pretty fabric postcard with tatted flowers and sparkly bicones
Sharon – beguiling ATC of a stitched “crystal ball” on a hand coloured background. Sharon also sent me a elegant fabric postcard of a gull flying over the sea. It reminds of the snow petrels I saw flying over the southern ocean.
Kalona – wonderful ATC made from bonded (?) red fabrics with a stitched “happy birthday text
Linda – a lovely patchwork ATC embellished with pretty stitched flowers
Jeannette – gorgeous stitched flower ATC stitched onto printed satin with a very interesting range of threads. Jeannette also sent a beautiful cross-stitched card.
Thank you so much, your wonderful efforts are now proudly displayed on my wall.
(I am now only waiting for ATCS from Donetta and Judy)

I've been cursing ever since I put it in the mail that I FORGOT to do pistil stitch for the peacock's crown! He's a bald peacock with no mohawk!! ARGh! oops.
Happy birthday!!

The 7th ATC came from Tahlia. Tahlia likes peacocks, so do I. Besides a self-designed peacock card and stamp, Tahlia sewed an exquisite peacock ATC. Thank you, Tahlia!
