At 9.30 GMT this evening, 'Faith' the 16 century Jacket recreated by Plimoth Plantation and recently featured in Stitched will be revealed at a function in Boston. AND live on their blog The Embroiderer's Story.

Hi all, I have just added a free pattern for a christmas holly on my blog http://www.goldnstitches.typepad.com/ . Part one and two are already on the blog and the remainder will be added over the next couple of days. Enjoy

I've been talking to the lady (seller). I'm buying a antique velvet heavily fringed cushion cover from her and so we've had quite a few chats in the last week.
Spotted in a group of items what looks like real vintage metal painted Purl (like the silk covered purl, not goldwork purl) - but can't be sure. So now she has learnt all about Stumpwork.

I hope it's ok that I put that up under Stitchin' Fingers rules. I'm not advertising for myself - I just thought they were interesting, and possibly useful to someone.

Those are really cute, and would definitely come in handy with something like a bird thimble holder. I keep saying I am going to make the one from my Elizabethan Needlework Accessories book, one of these days...

LOL.
Check out http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=27077389

A variety of bird's feet done in pewter, with realistic details. (They simply cut off above the 'knees').

"Here is 1 pair of pewter Duck or Goose pewter feet. $USD12
They measure: 2&1/4" x 2&1/4"x 2&1/4".

I also have feet for:
Downy Woodpecker-3 pairs
Nuthatch-3 pairs
Goldfinch-1 pair
Chickadee-3 pairs
Titmouse-3 pairs
Made by R.L.Belise
I will combine your order for any eyes, feet and unfinished blocks to save you shipping."

Saves you wiring your own, I guess.

I've just put this in as a curiosity- tho with the right piece, they'd be great!

Sorry to be so quiet and not be helping leading and getting things going group-wise, but we're really busy preparing for the international move next week. More details on my blog if anyone's interested . Link on my SF personal page.
