Hi my name is Michelle Mueller and I did 25 christmas cards in Brazilian Embroidery. I absolutely thrilled about this website and groups! I really am interested  in learning Stumpwork embroidery. It looks beautiful!

I just have to share (and thank you all for the recommendation) -- Hubbins picked up the stumpwork and cone sets at Needlepaws for me for Christmas!  They are beautiful and amazing and I cannot wait to use them.  YAY!

Hi all, I have been a member of the 16th & 17th c. Crewel Embroidery board and am new here.  I have aspirations of doing a raised work casket and you can see my planning on my blog cookiez123.wordpress.com if you like.  I have collected lots of things for this project but haven't started the work as many other things are being worked on now.  IHopefully, will do it this coming year.  I have added a 17th c. Stumpwork board on my Pinterest, so do take a look please.  I would like to add more pins to this board, fascinating!

Bordados levantados, means raised embroideries. So I am assuming it is Stumpwork.

Thank you Lorna.  I am glad it is not just me having a "senior moment"!  I imagine that the new member has entered something in the wrong place.

Hi Grace - I did too .  I translated it to read - I long to learn, where to start?

But like you am puzzled as no entry here!!??

Comment by Grace Lister on December 9, 2012 at 4:37

Yesterday I was sent a message in (I think) Portuguese from Roseli Veroneze Becker and I am completely unable to find this person in this group or access the message so that I can translate it.  Has anyone else heard of this person or received a message from her?  The message reads "bordados levantados" and what throws me is that in the information section above it says that the latest activity in this group was 22 hours ago which I assume was this message.  No matter what I do I can't get this particular entry.  Any ideas anyone?

Grace - yes, I came across Needlepaws earlier this year. They do various sizes of half cone stick too. There is an earlier post on my blog that discusses the various UK stockists of half cone sticks.
