Gosh - so many sources on your blog, Janet!

I'm looking forward to getting and using half cone/ring sticks for raised work as part of the Thistle Thread Casket I will be making over the next 3 years. Deciding *which* of the many motifs I'd like to do is really hard!

Hi - I've only just joined Stitchin Fingers, and made a bee line for this group! I've put a couple of pictures of a stumpwork bag I've recently made on My Page.

Re. the half cone sticks - by coincidence, I put a blog post about where to get them from in the UK on my blog yesterday (I found four places in the UK, altogether), as I'd used one when I made needlelace foxgloves for my bag, and people asked where to get them from. The image earlier on in this discussion, showing two half cone sticks - one sideways on - is from my blog http://janetgranger.wordpress.com/. If anyone knows of any more places that sell half cone sticks, please let me know and I'll add it as an edit to my blog post.

You are Welcome ladies.

Maybe if a few of us received their Half Cone Stick we can do a challenge and see what we can create with them??  Just a thought.  Hugs Judy

Hi Judy, thank you for the information on the half cone's, I ordered the set from Needlepaw, and the price is excellent. Thanks again.

Hello Everyone.

I did not get any messages after my posting so I did not think anyone saw them. What a nice surprise when today I discovered all of your nice comments.

The HCS's wood is sooo very very smooth.  Lovely wood crafting.

Anne DH who makes them in several sizes.

Small size is:  1/4 inch base at its widest point. The Base length is 3/4 inches and including the handle the length is 2 1/4 inches.

Medium:  Wee less than 1/2 inch base, Base length is 1 1/4 , and 2 3/4 inches including handle.

Large:  1/2 base  1 3/4 cone and 3 1/4 inch long including handle.

The Extra Long one was custom made for me.   At the widest point of the base it is 1 inch.  The base is 3 1/2 inches long,  5 1/2 inches long including handle.  The cost is more for the Extra Long one.

The wee holes at the top of the base is where you hold down the Half Cone Stick so they are stable while you are doing your needle lace.

I truly love them and I hope to start playing with them soon.  vbg

Bob will custom make any size you would like.  A very nice man.

Any more questions please ask.  Hugs Judy

Those are really beautiful looking half cone sticks (and ring sticks), Judy. Thanks so much. Great price too.

Can you help us with an idea of the sizes, as Grace mentioned?

Thank you for the photo Judy.  I might go ahead and order one or two.  How big is the largest one?

They look lovely.  I can't wait to see what you make with them.

Hello Everyone, I thought I would share a photo of the Half Cone Sticks that Anne Weston's husband made for me. The business is called Needlepaw and they are located in the UK.  He made me a small, medium and large and a Extra large one. I love them and I am looking forward to using them. See attached photo of them.

Hugs Judy
