Sharon the class will run again later in the year and I do keep a waiting list believe it or not there are already people on it! Finding a 6 week block of time to run an online course is sometimes tricky

Just drop me an email on the Pintangle site (not here as there is a a  chance I could miss it with so much chatter on the site)  I wil add you to the list.

Basically those on a waiting list and my newsletter members get emailed a week before I announce classes on my blog so they get first chance at the class.

I see the Feb 9th '12 class is full, can anyone tell me when the next class may run?  Would love to take part!

I did the course with Sharon early last year. No, I downloaded the classes last year and did some of the exercises before being overwhelmed with work commitments (don't seem to have got the hang of retirement). However, I am now revisiting the lessons and trying to make better use of my journal.

Aha!  I was looking at my journal recently and wondering how I could cram anything else into it!  Like Faith, I wasn't really paying attention when Sharon told us about removing pages.  Thanks for jogging my mind, ladies.  I'm off to "reconfigure" a couple of notebooks!

Yes I used the spiral bound sort for an age too - still do sometimes - you take the pages out and reshuffle them too. I added fold out pages to journal that way. I also remove pages and add pages of special papers. In fact spiral bound journals are very versatile. I  have a tutorial on my blog about it

My current journal is spiral bound and it's easy to remove pages. I like the idea of having spacers, but I imagine (knowing me) I'll just make another spiral bound and fill it to the capacity (with bulging) of the spiral, just like the current one.  I kinda like that it bulges. It shows me I've done something with it; I've used it.

Yes to avoid breaking the spines I remove pages from the middle of the signatures (of the commercial bound journals)  and then re-bind them into my own journals when I have enough! When I bind my own I have spacer cards (like in old photograph albums) to solve the bulge problem. Most of my bulk comes form printouts, fabric scraps, thread samples etc If you look at sample books and designers journals in museums they all bulge so I dont feel so bad.

Sharon said we'd have to remove some pages from the original journals, but I didn't pay attention. I think I need to do that, now. The journaled pages are twice the original thickness of the journal and I have used only about half of them! (I do paste a lot!) Two journals for one... and I get to make a new/different cover. I can imagine making an index (of writing only) to keep track of everything, so I better think of names/titles for each journal.
