The worksheet for running stitch is in stitch file module 4 which you can down load from my blog here (just follow the link).

Feel free to share photos links etc here

Feel free to insert photos directly into the discussion page. I have a tutorial on how to do that here

Please tag any photos in your albums here as  runningstitch and/or "running stitch". I have a small tutorial about tagging photos here if you need to know more.

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for the free tutorials I have downloaded everyone. This is the cross I did in whipped running stitch for the stole my son is receiving when he is ordained. I did use the instructions from the stitch library. It is done in gold butterfly thread. I use a tip from Dorothy Clark's book 'Exploring Elizabethan Embroidery'. Dorothy said and I quote"When using DMC gold or silver thread I dab the cut end, where the threads have a tendency to seperate, on to my UHU glue stick." this works like magic and I don't waste gold thread now.

All the details are on my blog
This looks lovely Peta.

I have completed some samples of running stitch, and these are on my blog

I particularly enjoyed experimenting with whipping and interlacing - I never thought of the humble running stitch as being so versatile and so decorative!
A little free-style play with running stitch and a lovely little scrap of satin
