My Cretan samples are blogged at

This is one of the basic stitches but I have never done it! So I had to work a small sample. I enjoyed stitching it very much. Maybe this is because this stitch lends itself to irregularity.
Now I have found the right way for adding a photo. Here it is:

Raphaela,
That's a beautiful mess you've made! I love irregularity, too.
Yes I like the texture of it too - it is very lovely - makes me want to stitch!
I have started on learning this stitch and think it is my favourite so far. You can see pic of what I have done over on my Flickr photostream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/towardsagoodlife/5142998562/

Hi Everyone - check out Mary Corbet's site Needle'n Thread as she has written up a great piece on Creten stitch and using the stitch for leaves.
For some reason blogger won't work for me right now so I posted my cretan sampler at http://www.flickr.com/photos/14196417@N03/5173917567/. Loved every minute of working it. Trying to decide if I want to explore further right now or move on and come back to it! Think I will move on for now. Can always come back for more exploration!
