I just love couching....It has so many uses and you can use other stitches to couch as well. It allows you to use thicker and heavier threads to add texture which you could not normally thread through a needle. When used to attach gold thread using a different colour can add such a richnes to the embroidery. I have used fly stitch to couch some ribbon down. This is another stitch that allows freedom of movement .

The instructions say to bring the laid thread through from the back but what do you do if the thread is too thick to thread onto needle. On my letter "U" this was the case and so I have left it with raw ends but sure there must be a better solution! Any help much appreciated :-)
