I got tired of our long winter so I decided to make myself a small applique quilted hot pad for my kitchen table.   I found this worm  pattern since I do work in the garden when it is spring/summer.   Then put together with scrap fabrics with a heat resistant batting and two warm and thin batting.  I used the sewing machine to layer the quilt battings and fabrics together.    I am still learning how to use the machine for quilting as I am new at this.    It was a fun stitch to pass the winter blues away.

Very nice!  I saw this pattern recently at a quilt show in Folsom, CA, and it was attracting a lot of great comments.  Do you remember the website where you ordered the pattern?

Julia, your quilt is so lovely.  You must be proud!

I have finially finished a Quilt!  It has only taken me 1 1/2 years.   The pictures are done in backstitch needle work.  Then pieced and Flying Geese!   I quilted it on my normal machine.

This is the time of year all quilters are busy on the new projects.  It would be nice to hear what you are working on.  I am machine quilting my "Over the Hills and Through the Woods to Grandmothers House we Go" Quilt.

Susan, I am glad to find someone else in this position.  At my age I should be getting rid of fabric but I get it all out with the best of intentions and them quietly hide it away again.  I really  do pity the persons who have to go through everything I have in my workroom.

Well, since I have long gone SABLE (Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy) this group is definitely for me!  Susan in Texas
