Im currently work on an Ehrman Kit "Marmalade Cat" which is straight continental stitch, but Im thinking about trying to embellish a canvas with other stitches that bring dimension to the piece. If any of you do embellish how to plan out what you are going to do, or do you just resolve to do the tent stitch.

Hope to get some feedback, Jean

Cheryl, I didn't state my OP clearly. I tent stitching along merrily on "The Marmalade Cat" I have a Maren Schaffner Maggie and Co canvas that Im getting ready to start "Lou Lou"

I thought about trying some other stitches, but all I can come up with is long stitch following the flow of the fur and the flow of the pillow, sound good?

yes yes...embellish whichever way you wish...I do it as I go.The basic design is the Ehrman one, your work is how you wish to do it!

See pic I did for a retail store :)

Ive only just done tent stitch on canvas but everyone can do what ever you fancy, its a nice idea to try something else other than tent stitch. Did you finish the piece.  Ive only just realised you wrote this in 2009
