I just added the "Romanian peasant girl" picture.The petitpoint received a First Place at the Maryland Fair 2009 - needlepoint.

Hi all, it is a while since I posted here. I was bussy with Mom. I am doing now two Christmas stockings for my 2 grandkids. It is Santa in front of the window reading a long list of requests. Is the first needlepoint that I do with wool. It goes faster but I still like the petit point wit DMC floss. I'll post when is finished. Doina

Hi Kara...
I will put together a list of restaurants and post them here on the comment wall before the show. There are lots of steakhouses in that neck of the woods, but there are also some good ethnic places within walking distance of the hotel.
Is anyone else planning on attending ANG in Milwaukee?

I'm trying to remember the name of a needlepoint technique I once used. You stitch a part of a design on a separate piece of canvas from the main design. You then stitch the separate piece onto the main piece around the edge of the smaller design. You cut a slit in the back of the canvas, under the attached piece. You insert stuffing to get a raised 3-D effect for the smaller design on the front. I did this once with raised strawberries in a basket.

I joined the Stichinfingers yestrday. I would like to join this group because I do not know what's my favored needlework: Romanian Point Lace or Petit Point. My petit point have mostlyc classical paintg themes and especially Romanian painters from 1850 trough 1920. I placed on my photos one of the paintings I did. It is Maria. The original painting was done in the late 1600 by the italian painter Carlo Dolci. I am posting here a Peasant girl head by N. Grigorescu. this was my Mother 90th birthdat present. I hope you like them. I am looking forward to meet ll of you. Doina

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know I'll be out of state from early tomorrow until Saturday, March 28, 2009 because we are going to visit our son, his wife and meet our newest granddaughter. We will be driving out and back and are hoping for good weather. See you all when we get back!
