I received a pfaff embellisher for my B/D on JUne 3.

Have made several items and lots of experimenting as well.

bought a bump of rovings and have been experimenting with food colorings as a dye source.

good results.

lots of experimecting and as i don't really know anyone else who has an embellisher i am on my own.

It is surprising how little there is on the net about these machines.

Try googling : "fiber artists, embellishing, etc. Some excellent sites to visit include: Creative textiles and quilting arts.com a blog b;y Linda Mathews, Bags and Pillows.com by Christopher Nejman, Fiberella.com, Yaga.com, Joggles.com, Enjoy.....
I have used muslin to practice embellishing on. I have also used wool as well as silk duponi. My choice is based on what I want to make and what outcome I want. One thing that might be helpful to you is to take a class at a local sewing store. My local store has a creative club and it meets monthly. We learn new applications and get a chance to share ideas. Your library, depending where you live may have some magazines and or DVD's to help. If you like Christopher Nejman's work, his book "pillows" has some step by step directions on making some pillows. He also has a DVD book with step by step lessons on using the embelisher to make purses. A friend of mine used her embelisher to make a clock (also used her embroideru machine ) . Et turned out beautiful.

The Babylock site has some projects you may get some ideas from.

Good luch,
Joyce
unfortunatly there are no classes at all in this area.
i live in a small counrty town and probably am the only one with one of these machines

this is one of the reasons i am asking other users
also to promote discussion and to get our own ideas going
Hi Dawa.yes things have been a bit quiet recently.
Myfanvy has just moved the Embellisher network group to BigTent, about 20 members so far, so early days.

Yes i know of that one and hoping it becomes more active now
Linda Matthews has wonderful online offerings( on so many techniques), as well as a blog and newsletter. I have taken several of her classes, reasonable cost and well taught. She also does her lessons in PDF so you can download and save/print to make your own resources. I can't speak highly enough of her. ,
several free tutorials too. She is without a doubt the best of any instructors I have had lessons with-online or in person.
Even having had instruction, sometimes the best thing to do is just play and experiment! Anne
