Links and Tutorials

a place to share links to online resources, interesting websites, and tutorials

Purpose of the group

This group has been established as a central area on Stitchin Fingers for members to leave links to online resources, interesting websites, etc. It is also the place where you can leave a link to a tutorial, or start a new discussion with a tutorial of your own.

It is hoped that this group will be the place that members from all groups will post tutorials here, so all members can access them. NOTE: this is probably not the best place to post questions asking for advice -they would be better in the relevant group, or main forum. I think group will work better simply as a listing of links.

Several discussions have been started, one for each area of interest. Hopefully this will make it easier to navigate. NB: select 'view all' to see all the discussion/areas already started. Please add your tutorial to the most appropriate discussion thread, or start your own discussion to add a new topic area.

(I have tried to simplify the areas as much as possible. eg I have list CQ with other patchwork and quilting. If you would prefer a separate area, feel free to start a new discussion)

Please note: This is not the place to advertise your work for sale, or link to Etsy. etc. Links like this are permissable on your private page only.

Beaded 3D Kitten Cat Charm with tutorial!

Hi all,

I just made these cute little beaded kitten cats few weeks ago and the good news is I also just completed the free tutorial for it at: http://beadjewelrymaking.com/2009/project/july.html to share with those who is interested to make one or a few for yourself.

I used the smallest beads I have which is size 11/0 and one size smaller for the tiny paws, so the little cats are each standing at only 1 cm tall, they are so tiny that I'm thinking of making a kitten charm bracelet with some of them.

I used typically the right angle weave technique but usually more than four beads weaves.

I used various color combinations to make eight of them, each of different colors, here's more colors of my litter of beaded kitten cats: http://www.beadjewelrymaking.com/2009/beaded_cat.html

Thanks for looking!

Pallavi, thank you for sharing your tutorial for fabric tassels. I look forward to you posting the next ones. I did go to your blog. I can use this idea in some of my own work, the fabric tassels are actually a fresh idea for me.

Hello
I've added two new posts to my blog/tutorial on pulled thread work. They are for 2 simple bookmarks, each taking about a day to make. Good small projects for trying out some pulled thread stitches. The blog starts on my profile page in stitchinfingers. The finished bookmarks can be seen in my "pulled thread bookmarks" album, also accessible on my profile page.
