I hope you have all seen the msg from sharon regarding ning wanting to charge for this site and may I recomend that you follow the ongoing discussion on the Forum.
I just wondered whether we should put together a list of blogs and other contact points that we can each save to keep in touch just in case the worst happens and we lose this site, Maybe then we would have a chance of reconviening elsewhere on the net

I think that a list of blog is a bit dispersive... I mean, I do have my blog and I follow a (big) number of blogs, but blogs are a sort of monologue, you say whatever you want to say and at most someone will leave you a comment...It's not the kind of interaction that there is on a group or a forum, where many people participate to a conversation (though blog does offer possibilities that are not available on a list or forum!). Maybe creating a forum somewhere else would be closre thing to what we have here; and people could put links to their blogs or photo albums in their signatures
must admit I was thinking more along the line of at least having some contact details incase this site disappears before we have chance to a new forum. At the moment I'm keeping an eye on what Sharons thinking is on this.
Would hate to suddenly lose contact with all of you :-(
I also think we need to gather together contact information because it would be sad to loose contact with each other. Hugs Judy
Hi All,

I think a list of e-mails is a must if we all want to keep in touch if the worst happens.

A few years back I had the experience of being in a group which had just started a Round Robin when the owner of the group had a hissy fit & closed everything without telling anyone. We were lucky that those of us that were in the RR had set up a contact list so we could make up another group elsewhere. This group is still running to this day ( & so is the RR!).

The question exhists now of how are we going to do this? Is one person going to collect all the addresses or are we going to post them somewhere publically?
Hi All I am pleased everyone is taking care to set up contact lists etc. It is worth doing not matter what. I have been involved with a yahoo group that collapsed (I was not running it) and swaps, round robbins and all sorts went hay wire. So do make email contact lists.

That said I hope to keep things going here on Stitchin fingers. Hopefully no one will have to worry (see my comments on the main discussion thread). I just wanted to say I was aware of peoples worries and fears but also want to make sure everyone knows what is happening.
Please don't leave me behind!! I am moving and will not have daily internet connection as of this week. Can someone keep me posted via email: shadetreeart.com@gmail.com

Thanks
Shirl
