I am almost finished knitting a matinee jacket out of Patonyle shade 1111 (different colours of blue).  I need about 5 metres to finish it if someone can help me please?…Continue

Hi!  I'm new to this group.  I'm interested in knitting and have done several projects, but the knitting board scares me just a little.  As yet, I don't have one, but am thinking about it.  Would anyone be able to explain how to use one better than the instructions that comes with it?  Thanks so much, Lorie

Hi everyone. I have a KK, and a sock loom. But right now I am busy knitting dish clothes with bamboo needles. Are we allowed to talk about regular knitting too, or just board knitting? My daughter and I were making newborn hats on the KK to send away to hospitals in need in the Appalachian mountains. I hope to make some new friends in this group!

It doesn't disqualifty you. If I'm right, a knitting board is usually rectangular and made out of wood and you can remove some of the pegs and put them back in when you need them again. If anyone else knows for sure, please answer. I found a short knitting board at a used store for $1 and it did'nt have any instructions , but it did have a phone # and address. I tried it and got lucky and told the lady how I got it and she very nicely sent me instructions on how to use it and a few different stitches with it. She was so kind and didn't even ask me to pay her for it, just sent the page for free. Sorry, Beverly, it took me so long to answer but I have MS and am going through a bad time with it. Karen

Hi Karen - I found a few patterns at provocraft.com along with good instructions. I'm a beginner but have already made a few hats. It is great fun.

I have been saving my pennies (I'm on disability and don't get enough to pay the bills) so I can buy the Kniffty Knitter Looms. I wondered if anyone has any patterns to share? I'm not a designer and with my bad MS, I figure that will be the last kind of needlework I will be able to do. But thankfully that hasn't happened yet, so I can still do others. If it has antything to do with yarn, thread and art and paper, I like to try it. Can't afford to buy patterns , so that's why I'm asking if anyone has some to share. To buy anything, I have to eat less. And I'm not dead yet, so don't want to have to live like am. It's bad enough I was in and out of the hospital constantly. Now I find out I have the worse kind, so I want to learn the arts I never got around to learning before. Guess we don't have forever to learn something like some of us think we do. Karen

Am I missing something as a knitter?
I know about knitting in the "round" but WHAT IS A KNITTING BOARD? If I don't knit on a board, does that disqualify me as a member?
