There is a group within this Stitching Fingers site that is already dedicated to Scrumbles.

But for those of you here wishing to see some examples, here are a couple of my own crocheted scrumble pieces haphazardly joined together to create a new "fabric".

Im certainly interested if you'd like to! It looks like you need heaps of odd bits of wool? I can crochet all the basic stitches, but I have a book with other stitches in it if I need those. I just LOVE this type of crochet.

Cy that sounds like a great idea!  I would be a 'beginner' in this as I have never 'scrumbled'!!!

Ok Fiona, as I now have your permission to go ahead with a "scrumble-along" here ...... watch this space.

I'll work out the details this weekend and post the info next week if thats ok with you.

I'll set it up here in the DISCUSSIONS area unless there is another place you'd like me to set it up. I could also put it on my blog page.

scrumbling...Yaaaay! what a cool collage of crocheting! ...

this looks really fun!

question - has anyone every tried to add a crocheted panel to a regular fabric material and if so ...is the best approach - to sew it with thread or use a LARGe needle and sew them together with yarn??

OOPs! Don't know what happened there.  Pamela Joy, I haven't  done it for a long time, and the last time I joined  pieces of fabric and crochet, it was very fine crochet (2-ply cotton &.75 hook) and the fabric was linen.  I edged the linen with buttonhole stitch in the crochet cotton (using a faily big crewel needle, then crocheted the motifs - as I remember it was 1 double crochet, 1 chain into each of the tops of the buttonhole stitches.    It looked neat, but the buttonhole stitches have to be at very regular intervals, like 4mm between stitches.     Don't know if this will work for you.    What ply crochet yarn are you using and what kind of fabric are you joining?
