Who thinks of a trail of simple buttons?
What items did you trap between the two fabric layers? What stitches did you use?
Don't bother about the folds, they are supposed to be there. You can choose to incorporate them in your embellishment or hide them with embroidery or beads.
Permalink Reply by Nicola Thomson on June 5, 2012 at 3:28 Thanks and Im glad about the folds..they wouldnt go anywhere!!!! lol
I used a curtain ring, 3 buttons, a wad of batting,a little stone and a marble, also a pipe cleaner in an s shape..not that you would know. ha ha
The stitches were blanket stitch, needle weaving, french and bullion knots and chain stitch.

I love buttons and never thought of including them on a pebble. I also love what looks to be vintage pearls, such pretty colors. All the neat stitches. What is the stitch below the buttons and next to the pearls. Looks a bit like a cup stitch, you have worked it in an off white thread.

Wow, Nicola, this looks like a pebble you might see around an undersea volcano - so vibrant. I love all of the bits you have used.

Permalink Reply by Susan Cuss on June 9, 2012 at 15:16 Nicola, your pebble is so pretty with all the soft colours and I love the buttons! Clever. A nice variety of stitches, too.
Permalink Reply by Ann Johnson on September 1, 2012 at 9:41 I would love to do one of these and as there's no time limit, I believe I will. I've seen several others and the creativity is amazing. This one is particularly luscious.
Nicola, the folds become a feature of this beautiful pebble.
