I purchased this embroidery a few months ago, and I've been trying to track down it's provenance. The lady who owned it previously apparently did a lot of traveling, and collected textiles from all over the world. Unfortunately, the antiques shop I bought it from had no idea where it came from, except from this lady.

Given the use of shisha, and the goddess figures, it's probably from the area around India/Pakistan/Afghanistan, but I've never seen colors like this!

There are more detailed photos at my blog, as well:

Anyone have any ideas for me?

I don't think I can help you identify it, but I would love to see a straight on picture of it. Is that possible?

Hi Romilly!

I just visited your blog to see the images. It looks like soof / Phulkari to me.Since both  the embroideries share many similarities than differences it's difficult unless we see close-ups of all the elements.I'd be able to identify if I could see some more images.
