I have seen people talk about hand dyed multicolored threads.
Sharon talked about Threadworx treads but I didn't' find any online store selling them.
I found a store selling Caron threads but the site is very difficult to navigate.South America
I' d like an American shop. Do you know any?

Permalink Reply by Susan Cuss on March 22, 2012 at 18:14 There are Tatters who sell their own HDT's in the US plus several sites online. They are a little more costly than buying from retail stores. You might check CQing sites such as The Pink Bunny or Maurene's Vintage Acquisitionsfor the threads they carry as well as Handy Hands.

Permalink Reply by Cindy Brown on March 23, 2012 at 4:00 I have bought threads from Nordic Needle, Needle in a Haystack, and Stitching Bits and Bobs. They are all good, and show pictures of most of the threads they sell on their websites. Stitching Bits and Bobs has a lot of good sales and I like them a lot. Needle in a Haystack seems to have the best selection (a lot of things I can't find elsewhere) but are a little higher in price. Bits and Bobs is an online only store (I think) and the other two are brick and mortar and online. I think you will find just about anything you want at these places. Good luck!

I'd like to add Colour Streams to the list. They are an Australian manufacturer and also available in the US. Check their website. They've wonderful, very unique threads + much more.
Permalink Reply by IRIS LINS on March 24, 2012 at 15:30 Sibille, have you already bought from them? The silk ribbons an treads colors is amazing !
Permalink Reply by Sibille Kreideweiss on March 25, 2012 at 13:27 Iris, I've just uploaded a picture of my first colour streams design. I've used Ophir for this one, + Aurora, which also makes the tassel. The shimmer tape is a lovely addition. I've also used their silken strands before. All of their threads are amazing, albeit very different to everything else, and they need to be treated carefully when stitching. It is pure silk and can fuzz very easily. Short length are necessary.
Permalink Reply by Margaret on May 1, 2012 at 0:57 In England we have two very talented girls who dye the most beautiful threads, Jean Oliver who trades as Oliver Twist Threads and Steff Francis trades as Steff Francis. They are both on line but their threads are sold in America, well worth checking out.I use Jean`s fine cottton for all my needleweving etc on my hardanger, she also does beautiful machine embroidery threads plus loads of other goodies.Hope this helps.
Permalink Reply by Deb Lee on May 1, 2012 at 8:50 Thank you for this post, I have been looking for a few sites and the list above is so helpful, I did stumble upon Threadworx and thought it wasn't responding than I put on my glasses and if you click on the smaller print under the threads you are looking for (5 yd or 20 yards) the colors are displayed.
Again thank you for this helpful post.
