I feel the stitch a long is dominating the forum so I thought if we keep it all together in one spot it might make it easier. So please post all stitch along chat here.

The stitch along starts on the July 1st 2008.

It is very open as people can choose to work any stitch from the list on what ever project they choose. This is a project you can pick up as you have time as people can work at what ever pace is comfortable as there is no timetable. The idea is share what you have done. All levels of stitchers are welcome to join and people can join in anytime

Leave a message if you are going join in. Then as you stitch leave a message here and if you want to spread the word further there is a open invite to all members to leave a comment on my blog too. I have written a guidelines page (with the list of stitches) here I am going to treat this as the master list because people get easily lost in these forums. (I can also edit the page easily) We can add to and shape the list as we want to.

There is a stitch along flickr group too

Sharon, I'm trying to come up with ideas on the different fabrics I should use for my sampler,,on the stitches above that are marked canvas, should those be done on Aida? Then the pulled on linen? Not familiar with a lot of the stitches and wanting to use the right type of fabric for each stitch. Also on your sampler, are you just going to put your stitches in a row, or will you be using the seams of your fabrics to place the stitches? Thanks.

Count me in please!
For some obscure reason, I no longer receive the follow up mails for my stichinfingers groups. I was a bit surprised that it had become so silent, but since I've been quite busy until yesterday, I did not mind that much.
I had a look tonight, oh my, I've missed a lot!
Anyway, I'm ready to jump in, my sampler linen band is ready and waiting. I think I'll use also some canvas for the canvas stitches.
Between that and the Studio Journal, summer is going to be fun!

Sounds good, should only take ten years to get through that list!!! Only joking, so we put comments here and pictures on flickr???

Count me in. Looking forward to adding new stitches to my projects.
I also like the idea of doing a band sampler for reference and journaling.

No joke, Jo-Anne, 10 years looks about right!

I'm in Sharon., but I may not be able to start on July 1.

Sharon - This is wonderful. I discovered and joined the flickr group as I am very keen to be part of this exercise - count me in, thankyou. I have even decided that I will go with my "no fixed format" idea and use the camera or scanner to record and print out a copy of my efforts. This can then go into a journal with all the details- Maggie's Stitch Thesaurus. I never did manage to document my PLOS samplers as well as I might have liked. I am doing better on my TIF record keeping.

To be able to pick and choose which stitch to try, whenever, is also very appealing .

Sounds flexible enough for me to stitch along. I'll go for the band approach. A question, please -- will we be doing stitches in a particular order???
