Ok as promised in my cable stitch discussion here are the pictures of my finished doily. I'm proud of my self for starting and finishing a piece in the same year. Lol

I am not sure I should announce it here after looking at all your wonderful work - but I have finished the second sampler it is on my blog http://maggies-textiles.blogspot.com. It is far from where I want to be. I am exceedingly doubtful about my picots and all of the work could do with considerable improvement but I have learnt a lot in finishing these two pieces and that is what it is all about.

Thanks Vera for your kind words. I agree with you totally about how to learn - it is just that I have left it so late and my not so perfect eyesight and clumsy fingers don't help the process one little bit! I am not grumbling - just explaining why it is taking me so long to progress - any way the learning process is so much fun - it really is the main thing , isn't it?

Marvelous! Using ecru for the surface embroidery with white for everything else add something very personal to the piece. I like it. And your photography is very very good, too.
