I just joined up and have never heard of fiber books before. They sound real interesting to me and after reading some pages of the comments it sounds like they are a book about whatever you want it to be , but in fiber. Am I right? I'm not sure this makes it a new discussion but I'd thought I'd do it this way since everyones comment I've read so far today, seems to know what they are . I am just starting to learn how to crazy quilt, and I was thinking a book of my progress, or not, would be interesting to me in the future. For example, each new step that I learn I make it again for my book. Come to think of it, maybe my 2nd example should be my project and the first try be in my book. Is that an example of a fiber book? I use to do regular quilting years ago, but never got around to crazy quilting. And now that my MS has gotten worse, I think it's time to learn if I'm ever going to.

By the way, my name is Karen and I'm 58.

I think you have the right idea. I have two fiber books in progress at the moment. One is embroidered inchies of my blessings, which is actually part of this SAL and the other is a collection of various samplers, which is still more in the idea stage.

I think a crazy block book would be lovely, and as a record of your progress could be very interesting to you later and to your children, grandchildren, etc.

There are lots of beautiful example on the member pages of this group.
Karen,

You have got it exactly right. There are no rules, there are probably dozens of ways to go about it, and your idea of trying something for a crazy quilt and adding it to a book page before you do the actual block would be a wonderful idea.
I think, too, you habe a good idea. You can make the page when you want and you make your book when you have all pages. Sorry, my english is so bad !
Thank you for the replies. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. My MS makes it hard for me to do things. Do you have a "How To' on making stitching books somewhere? Haven't found one yet. Karen
