Hi folks, its that time of the month again when we need to decide upon our next PC theme! I have had a couple of suggestions that we could maybe do hats or handbags this month. Anyone any other ideas?... To new friends, welcome....come along and sign up for our July swap... everyone invited!

Welcome to the swap Kalona, Linda and Helen

Yep put me in please as I so enjoy taking part in this,,,, if this is ok... handbags and hats sound goodx

Oh absolutely!!

My Toyota is 20 years old and getting a little weary...plus it's limited in what it does...

I've spent 2 weeks trawling through reviews/sites to find something I could get on with... they're so expensive now! What I wanted would have been over £1000... I don't spend that on a car!

My mum gave me some money for my upcoming birthday so my limit was 1/4 that...

Anyway, after much worrying/reading/provaricating I plumped for a QE404. I don't know the make, but it had good reviews, and I found one at my price. It seems ok so far... don't like all the plastic but it seems that's the trend... I'm used to heavyweight Singer/Bernina and Toyota. Next time I'll have to take out a loan, eh!!

Today I'm testing it on some new clothes... let you know how it goes...

Hi, I'd love to join in, Hats sounds good?

Kalona: I changed my sewing machine in Feb this year ... there are features I dont know how to use yet. I had the same feeling coming to a plastic (the old machine was a Juki with its own wooden cabinet/table !) but I know love it, so enjoy!

Hi Ana and Faith, welcome, you are now on my list!

I haven't participated for a little while, but hats sounds too good to pass up.  Count me in!

Sounds good, but how about expanding the theme to 'All dressed up' should appeal to everyone?

Barbara :)

Hi,

I spent today making a summer top. I've put lots of weight on after being ill and unable to exercise so I need a new wardrobe, although I'm loathe to make too many so big..it's less incentive to get to my proper size again.

I had to make my own pattern, but I'm used to that... the machine works fine, although one niggle is that the foot raiser bar is tucked under the body of the machine, and I keep going to the back with my left hand because that's what I've done since I was a kid! What ever made them put it there... feels so cack-handed.

I think I've gone through all the main features, there's some handy ones like stop/start, needle up/down... I use them alot.. I've tried a few of the stitches... but am a little disappointed that they don't enlarge very much (compared to my old machine which had gear wheels for each pattern). I would like them to be bigger...and I've tried the text function- now I've been told I've got to put everyone's name in their undies! AS if..... pfft!

Top looks good, shall make another tomorrow... at last a chance to use the ton of material my mum has hoarded since working at Singer's in the 70's!! Gonna be busy, busy!!
