For anyone interested in Thomas Trevelyon's 1608 Miscellany, Folger Shakespeare museum has made it available online. Embroidery patterns seem to start on page 7. The link:

Yes, I've stitched a piece inspired by one of the Trevelyon panels. I modified a detail from one of his holly designs to create a miniature purse. Here's the link to my piece.....

Oh, I am really going to enjoy exploring this book! Thank you, Kimberley. I'm currently doing a piece based on a woodcut from an emblem book (not stitched particularly 'historically' - just chain stitch, silk on linen), and can see some of the figures and flowers on these pages calling out to me to hurry up and finish it so I can choose one of them as inspiration for my next surface embroidery project.
