Anyone have any suggestions for embroidery books in this genre?

I always enjoy reading that blog, and in particular when there is something useful that I can compare my own work to. Thanks for pointing this out.

:)

Now that's an interesting diagram that Trish has put up on http://thistle-threads.com.mytempweb.com/blog/index.php/2009/10/geeking-out/
(The Embroiderer's Story) today.

Showing the difference between amateur and professional level detached buttonhole. Gives me something to aim for *grin*

Chris,
I didn't answer your question about swops/exchanges. Nothing organized yet- we're a new group. :-)

I've just looked through all 36 pages of AllWILDJEWELS.
*sigh*

Ok, so I'm spending $8 on 4 vintage irridescent pansy buttons that I just couldn't pass up.

(Yes, this is OT, but you can't spend all that time at AWJ and not mention it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look her up at Etsy. She used to be in Ebay but I don't know if she is anymore. She sells vintage paillettes, and if you don't know what a 'greasy montee' is, well - you can go there and find out. (and I want the olive ones)

Those beads are great! I've been chatting with someone online who's using detached buttonhole similarly to cover a tassel form (for the top of a large tassel).
