Susan, your stitching is awesome. Love your blog. Live on the coast and get to collect from the sea from time to time.  Use all the wonderful finds in my CQ under the sea blocks. Thanks for your teaching.

thanks Judy and Elziabeth - I will check those sites out.  It is much too hot to be outside today - so I am staying in - listening to Prairie Home Companion and stitching.  Sometimes it helps to take a step back and look from a distance, so I thought I would check here! best wishes, Kathy

Hello Kathy,  Susan from Play With Needles blog is showing a step by step CQ block she is embellishing with all kind of shells she collected from Florida beaches.  Susan's stitching and beading is awesome and I am sure you will learn many things from following her blog.  Hope this helps. Hugs Judy

I just finished a coral reef scene where I added shells and rocks etc.  the rocks I stitched into lace and the shells either had holes in them or  I drilled holes in them.  Lots of fun!! If you go to my page you can see my coral reef pics if you are interested!

has anyone ever added shells to a CQ?  I just gathered lots of tiny ones from Folly Beach, South Carolina.  The hurricane/tropical storm Debbie has really churned up the water and left lots of goodies behind.  I am working on a "Neptune's Garden" theme quilt and would like to add them.  ANy suggestions or tips?

Hi, I've just joined the CQ group after browsing through the discussions and posts.  I've been a SF member since it started, and belong to a few other Groups, but haven't been active on the site for a year or so.  Life gets in the way.... in the meantime I've become obsessed with CQ (thanks to Pam Kellogg and Sharon B!), and have joined the 2012 Journal challenge.  I notice nobody has posted to that discussion for a few months, but I am about to post my two cents worth!

Amazing to find these outlets, given the prices we pay here in UK for handles - my find of the week! Thank you Sewbeads!

Thanks Sewbeads for the links...looks like I'm not the only one looking. Thanks again :)

Susan,

Thanks for the etsy shop list.  I will have to check all 3 of them out.
