If you could choose only one reference for Crazy Quilts (awful, I know!), what would it be?

I know that is not what you are asking! I am not sure I could pick just one. Sharon B has such a great stitch library, you could busy for years just working your way through. There are so many artist's sourcessometimes it seems the content overlaps, but there may be one photo that sparks your interest, that makes that one book a treasure. Thank goodness we don't have to choose just one!

Permalink Reply by Donna Abrams on January 22, 2012 at 19:34 I have a book that is embroidery stitches that I use for crazy quilt blocks and it is designed for both left-handed and right-handed people. I have had so much trouble trying to reverse the directions in the past and this just fills the bill.

I am left handed too, what is the name of the book? I keep turning my books upside down trying to figure the stithes out!

Permalink Reply by Jan Brandt on January 23, 2012 at 18:59 Carole Samples Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stitches is probably my number one go to book. I have about 20 books on embroidery and crazy quilting. This is one of my top favorites for giving many versions of a stitch. It was published in 1999 and can be purchased from the American Quilter's Society in Paducah, KY, USA.

And to miss out on even one designers style is a crime. I get so much inspiration from all of those great books and from this web site everyone is so talented here. Love Judith baker Montano's books of course. I even have old books that show very old stitches I had never seen before that I love.
