One of the projects I am doing this year requires 24 squares. Does the journal project have to be 12 blocks?
Permalink Reply by Tahlia on January 3, 2012 at 21:08 According to what I recall, there is a minimum requirement, but no maximum limitation. The minimum size (of 36 square inches) can even be divided between multiple blocks if desired, and you can even work ahead on extra blocks, so you should be fine with 24 squares. Wow--two squares a month- that's really ambitious! :)

Permalink Reply by Jeanne Jabs on January 9, 2012 at 21:38 well I have my 1st Naked Block done, hoping to get the embellishments done tomorrow. It took me FOREVER to pick out the fabrics for this 1st block and I think so far so good. I did a little "trading" to get some "fancy" embellishments and I have to say everyone I traded with came thru for me, all the stuff I got is awesome. I hand dye wool so I traded hand dyed wool for embellishments. :O A WIN/WIN for everyone I hope. I know I am thrilled. I even got 3 books in the deal and 2 of them are on REDWORK and embroidery for CQ and the 3rd one is working with lace. Books and I are BAD NEWS, I can spend more money at Barnes and Noble than I can at the fabric or thrift store so that is REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!! So hoping this week sometime to post my January block. Keep looking at everyone else's and they are all beautiful.
ARGH! I wish I had my naked block done! Life is crazy in my house at the moment but hope to scavenge some costuming scraps (see pintangle for the full story)
Permalink Reply by J Patrick on January 10, 2012 at 19:24 I think mine will be a wall quilt. The theme is the places I have lived. I'll see what happens.

I'm making an advent calendar. Previously they have been made from felt, but this year I'm making one for myself and really want to cq the squares. I'm behind on things because of my mother's illness, but hope to have at least one block done before the end of the month.
