Hello,

Just popped over to join this group, as I have become addicted to making comfort dolls. All mine are on my Flickr set, and would love to be pointed towards photographs of those made by others. Especially if you are a blogging comfort doll maker. :)

Cheers

I think however they are also any small doll made to give as a gift to comfort someone.

Several members of this group made comfort dolls.

You can find those I made in my flickr album

Thanks Kirsten - exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. They are beautiful.

Thank you very much!

Just starting off my Suffragette Comfort Dolls. I normally don't like going into mass production, but in this case I think I will need to.

Hi Linda,  I have made numerous Comfort Dolls for Pat Winters...Is this another or a replacement for Pat's efforts?  I did not maintain photos on my Blog..I made different designs...I like your consistant pattern!  Just viewing your effeorts has encouraged me to get started again...Thank you for sharing, Jan B

I probably over document mine, but it makes it easier to part with them if I have photos - they are wonderful for small experimental projects.

Cheers

Fion your not dense I was gonig to ask the very same question? I was not sure myself so don't feel bad. Hugs, Kat

I will take a look at the sites posted, thank you for posting them to clear this up for those of us who do not know what a comfort doll is........hehehehe!

okay ladies it looks like comfort dolls are anything that suits your fancy, size, shape, embellishments but it must mean something to you is that right? Kat

Yes, it can be comfort, support, encouragement, whatever the recipient is in need of.

I make dolls for a specific  purpose - that's the way I see it.  I made one for someone close to me who really needed to feel that all was not lost.  I called her 'Hope'.  You can take a peek here.  Hope

Barbara

She is very pretty and has a feeling of calm and excitement at the same time, Kat
Hopscotch, I just looked at "Hope" and I have say she is lovely.  I especially like that you've hidden some hope for the recipient.  What a nice sentiment.
