Thanks, Liz. I was thinking maybe we could do a Hollywood Dotee swap. What do you think? Your favorite movie star as a Dotee?

Annie, great job! You have really captured the Angelina look. Can we look forward to a Hollywood gathering of dolls?

After I did my Marilyn Monroe doll, I accepted a challenge to do an Angelina Jolie. Check my blog or the photos here to see the result if you are curious as to the outcome: Click Here

I've been away from the computer for a few days, but hopefully I am back to a regular schedule now.
Yesterday I received notice that I won a prize for my Hoffman Challenge doll! It is a new category - Most Humerous! Well, I guess that is my thing - and I am so excited to get any kind of prize! Give me a couple of hours to gather my wits and I will get some photos posted.

I think you can go as far as you like. You can call it a 'Jewel' doll if you change it enough. ;-) We'd all love to see a photo of you work.. hint, hint.

Thanks Annie. That's helpful. I got the no rules part when I first read the tutorial, but I wasnt sure how far to go. My first try is pretty basic and is very plain in comparison to some of the ones that have been posted. Next one will be better, I'm sure.

Jewel, the Dotee dolls are named after the woman who 'invented' them, Dot Christian. That was her tutorial that you were looking at. She is also a member of this group.

The dolls are usually around 4-5" long from what I've seen, sometimes a bit more or a bit less. No real rules. Most of the ones I've seen do not have the back decorated, but there is no real reason why you can't do that it you want to. You really can use your creativity here to do whatever you like.

I got into the tutorial on Dotee dolls a few days ago and made a sample yesterday. I have a few questions: How large should the doll be? Is the back decorated as well as the front? Also what does the name "Dotee" mean?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the group. I have made one art doll and am working on a second. You can view her photo on my page.
