I have just got the Dear Jane book, a quilting book with 225 patterns in based on 4.5" blockes, this is from a quilt made in 1863. Not sure how I will get on as there are no instructions but have now found a blog of a lady who is posting each block as she makes them with full instrutions so I really have no excuse to have a go, working so small does worry me a bit as it must be quite fiddly, wonder if any one else is atttempting this quilt.

Hi everyone, I have recently added "When Granny Meets Filet" & "Unexpected Afghans" to my library of crochet books.  I would happily recommend these to any body who enjoys crocheting as they have great photos and easy to understand instructions.  I have so many projects earmarked then I have another look and have to ear mark more!!!!!

Hi, I've only just joined Stitchin Fingers. I'm from North Staffordshire, in the English Peak District (originally I'm from Essex, east of London). I love doing all kinds of embroidery - needlepoint, surface, stumpwork, goldwork...I have a business designing and selling miniature needlepoint for doll's houses, so I'm not phased by tiny counts of silk gauze, too! I'm a terrible bookaholic too, so no embroidery books escape me if I can help it  :-)

I have just bought Machine Embroidered Landscapes by Alison Holt, anyone who loves machine embroidery or the sea will love this, some beautiful seascapes and full instructions, not sure if I will ever manage to do one but just browsing through the book is wonderful

Hello Everyone,  I just saw in the UK Stitch Mag. a new book called,  The Joy of Ice and Rust   by Sally Sparks. Has anyone bought this book and if so what do you think? Thanks Judy

Hi Fiona I am working on a pineapple doiley right now and have not been able to concentrate so I have started and pulled apart so many times I have put it down for a few days when I can concentrate better.

Rose you and I are Yarn Sisters, I love to make doilies, especially Pineapple Stitch.  I have so many crocheted blankets that anyone that says that they are cold when they come to our house goes away with a blanket as I always have at least one on the go at any one time.  That doesn't include anything else that might be being done. I really have to get some photos done as I have also got a couple of new books that I want to put up here for others to look at & decide whether it is worth them buying or not!

I do all kinds, I especially love making doilies but I do hats, scarves, shawls and sweaters. I also crochet purses and blankets.
