Permalink Reply by emily brailsford on December 28, 2011 at 1:56 My computer has gone a bit mental and is not publishing my commnets properly. Sorry to hear about your mum Connie, also (this might be published twice) should our BJP be totally beaded such as on a bead loom or bead embellished embroidery? Going shopping for supplies so fingers crossed i get some replies soon......

Emily, Tahlia is correct. The only requirement is that there is some bead component to your piece. No one is going to throw you out either way~lol. Look at the BJP as a fun thing to do...to get you beading each month. Maybe challenge yourself to do something new you have been wanting to learn, practice something you aren't so comfortable with or just play with various colors, materials or designs. The rules are very simple on purpose, to allow you to enjoy what you are doing and hopefully hone a skill or learn something new. Have fun shopping! I need to do some of that too.

Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 28, 2011 at 14:01 I probably don't need to go shopping. Instead, I need to do a WHOLE LOT of cleaning and organizing! I already have lots of beads that I picked up throughout the years for one project or another or just because they're beautiful... for awhile I encouraged people to gift me with beads as a way to say thank you. e.g. "If you really feel you need to pay me back, do it with glass beads." ... and some of my friends took me up on that, so my collection grew in some unexpected ways from time to time! Now I just need to make sure I know what I have and that they are accessible and that I have a comfortable workspace! ... Been working hard on that the last couple of weeks: almost ready!
Do you all have your needles loaded? Ready, Set...
Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 31, 2011 at 17:26 Heh! nope, not loaded, but I think I can find them all now! ;)
I hope I can find mine! I wasn't wise like you. My studio is a mess! I can't imagine how much worse it is going to get in a short time with 3 challenges going on. Is there anyone else (we know of) besides you, Cy and myself in CQJP, BJP and TAST? Any others linking up here in all three?
Permalink Reply by Susan Shufelt on December 31, 2011 at 21:19 Hey gals...I have signed up for the two (CQJP and BJP). I didn't sign up for TAST because I have a pretty good grip on many stitches. But the two challeges should keep me plenty busy. I have also recently cleaned and organized my craft room. I always laugh at myself because I have a 4 bedroom house (live by myself) and I have choosen the biggest bedroom in my house as my craft room and I still have a very hard time keeping it organized. I really recommend taking a day (or 2 or 3) and get organized. It will save you time in the long run and make you feel good too. Everybody have a happy new year.

Good to meet you, Susan. I am only taking up the same challenges as you. Being new to both of them, I'm not really sure what to expect, even though I know what we do now. I am anxiously looking forward to new ideas. I am busy trying to finish up other work....wish it were all crafty-type but not!
And a Happy New Year to all of you from here as well.

Thanks Janie! I also want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I am so glad to be part of this smaller group on the side. It is so much easier to get to know each other, to bounce ideas around and for support! It will also be fun to get to know each other.
Susan, it is so ironic that I'm the one who hasn't cleaned my studio because I have a studio organizing blog. I have been neglecting it horribly as well with all that has been going on - holidays, hubby's partial knee replacement, babysitting grandkids, mother's flooded basement, challenge planning and preparations, excuses, excuses, and even more excuses. Actually, I am on a hunt for some dressers to use as fabric storage and haven't found what I need yet. I totally understand turning your biggest room into a craft room ~ lol!
Emily, are you doing TAST and Stitch Twelve? I think Debra's Stitch Twelve is a great idea and I'm thinking of lurking there.
