Is anyone in the bead group taking part in the bead journal project for 2012?

"You will not be notified of the receipt of your information until AFTER December 10th when registration closes. If I have not gotten your information when it closes, do not panic. I will work with you! Please be patient. Carol and I are doing our best. It wont be long now until you receive your invitation to post on the blogs, which is also your confirmation that you are in! Thanks!" posted on Dec 9

I'm quite certain that we will all find out that we are part of the challenge before Jan 1. Since that's still two weeks away, I'm just not worried yet. Give it another week before starting to worry-- the more emails they have to read and respond to that just say, "Hey, I haven't heard anything yet", the longer it will take them to get back to each of us with a real response.
I haven't heard a thing.
Permalink Reply by Cy on December 14, 2011 at 1:30 That's ok then, lol. As long as it's not just me who hasn't heard anything yet.
Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 14, 2011 at 1:47 Yah, I haven't heard anything yet either, but I'll probably be one of the last to hear from them because I didn't submit my request until the afternoon of the 10th (PST). :) I tried *SO* hard to avoid signing up and over-committing myself, but in the end, I just couldn't resist. It's going to be so much fun!
Permalink Reply by Cy on December 14, 2011 at 3:02 Yes I agree that it will be fun. I still have to decide what my pieces will finally be. I'm torn between stitching a beaded jewellery pendant each month or combining the 12 pieces in a multi-media art work.
Actually now I've voiced my idea, I think I'll just make the pieces and let them tell me what they want to be, lol. That way I don't have to do much pre-planning.
Permalink Reply by Kalona Simmons on December 14, 2011 at 12:25 It's the 14th...has anyone had their email yet?
I sent a query mail on Sunday, and got a reply today telling me to remail my details, so I'm waiting to see if that got through this time....

Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 14, 2011 at 13:48 I know what I want to do. I will be working on a peacock-shaped wallhanging for CQJP, and I have decided to make little circular beaded mandalas for the peacock's eyespots. :) I worked up two of them last week just to be sure that I wasn't ridiculously over-committing myself, and I think it's a manageable goal, even with everything else that clogs my schedule these days.
I am still waiting patiently, hoping that I hear back from them soon.
Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 14, 2011 at 14:53 Also, as far as I can tell, there is no official Bead Journal Project website set up yet for 2012. It doesn't show up on a google search yet, anyhow, and all of the websites for the previous years do show up. ...so... when the 2012 website shows up and I'm not on it, THEN I'll know there's a problem to sort out. ;) ... or a couple of days after Christmas, whichever comes first.
Permalink Reply by Kalona Simmons on December 15, 2011 at 2:14 Indeed, as we get closer to xmas hols I've got other things getting more urgent than worrying about it...so we'll see after crimbo.

I'm sure if we are all patient, we will hear from them. If not we may have to have our own monthly bead project challenge. I'm confident the fact that none of us have heard is an indication they haven't sent notices out.
Permalink Reply by Tahlia on December 15, 2011 at 13:34 That's a really good point, Connie! I'm taking reassurance in that fact too. :)
And the idea to create our own monthly bead project challenge is a fabulous backup plan!
I just received my confirmation. Here is the link to see if you are on the list. http://2012beadjournalproject.blogspot.com/
If you are, you should be receiving notice within the next couple of days I would guess, maybe sooner, maybe later. I just wanted to let you know (if you haven't already been notified) that the process is in motion.
