Hi, I'm Sylvia. I live in IStanbul, Turkey. I only recently became interested in beadwork. I most have been working on peyote and brick stitchesi but would like to branch off into bead embroidery. The Internet has been great source of inspiration and offers enormous learning opportunities through on-line videos, etc.... I hope this group can be an inspiration, too.

I bought two Fern Ridge kits for peyote stitch scissors fobs and have really enjoyed putting them together. Pictures are in my beading album.

Hello everyone. I am Bonnie S. living in SW Ontario, Canada. I LOVE beads and buttons and have so many that I need to get some ideas of how to enjoy using them as well as collecting them. I look forward to the wealth of experience and knowledge shared here.

Hi Barbara, I took a look at your Pellon piece. It is very complex looking. You've achieved an interesting piece with your mixed media. We could learn from you as well! Of interest to me would be how you painted or dyed the Pellon. I also wonder how large (inches in diameter) the piece is. Is it a brooch? When I looked at it, I though a similarly complex piece could be created by heat-distressing felt or painted tyvek, then beading it and adding other fabrics, also beaded. Cara

Hi everyone,
I have just joined and wish to show one of my pieces(experimental on Pellon).
I have only been beading a short while and hope to learn a lot from the more experienced ladies here. I have included a photograph from my photostream. Please take a peek, if you have time!
Barbara.

Hi Cara, I'm sure that they are sewn on. It looks to me as though she machine stitched the lines with metallic thread and then went back and sewed the beads on by hand. Maureen

Maureen, Thanks for posting the info about Nancy's website. It was inspiring to see her work. I just visited it and have a question re: Beaded Kaleidoscope in her Gallery. There are radiating metallic threads with a couple or three beads occasionally. Do you know if they are held in place (if so, how) or do they freely slide down the metallic thread? Or Nancy, are you there to answer this? Cara

FYI - Nancy Eha is starting to make free videos of different beading techniques. I believe she has them up on her website beadcreative.com If not, just email her from there to ask where you can see them. I think this is a great idea...Maureen
