I finally uploaded my fly stitch to my Stitchin Fingers page, and also posted it to my newest blog, ArtiPhybers. Here's a link to the blog post, which is long because it's my first on that blog.  My feelings won't be hurt if you skip what you don't want to read and just look at the pictures.

What I have discovered over the years--yes it took me that long--is that most of the stitches are variations on a theme. That is, there are a handful of ways to stitch but multitudes of ways to vary doing it that give very different effects.

I love the highlights you posted on PinTangle Sharon, and all the other stitches I've seen on blogs, etc.!

Being somewhat of an organizational freak--you'd never know that by looking at my studio table since I keep so much out and at hand, but at least I know where everything is--I spent much of the first week deciding what I wanted to do with my stitched pieces.  My goal was to keep them in something bound, but I wanted to keep it flexible.  Since I'm a bookbinder, I devised a way to display each week's work within a frame page, and I spent a good part of last week making the 52 frame pages for this year.  Each stitched piece can be removed from the frames and replaced at will, and there's room to add notes and ideas for future projects.  Rather than go into detail now, I'll post pics and a description on my blog soon, and share the link in a new discussion here when I've done that.

Suffice it to say, I just got started on my fly stitch, and now that the other stuff is out of the way, I'm at work on both last week's and this week's TAST, and will have something to post shortly.

You ladies (and gentlemen, if we have any) are such an inspiration! I'm in awe of all the creative ways you've chosen to do the first stitch!  Sharon, I'm over the moon happy that you're doing this again, as your first TAST was just winding up when I started blogging, so I missed it.

XOXO,

Barbara

Added my TAST (first week) photo this morning. I will be combining my TAST with my CQJP and will be making it all into a booklet project

Actually I had a thought you need to confirm once you sign up if you dont the service assumes it was a dud email address

Its a straight feedburner service and since as of this morning 1553 other people have signed on OK I assume it is working.

Just try again Sunny and look for the verifcation email

Try signing up again. Sometimes I don't put my email address in correctly.
