We are now on week 35, which is the Shisha Stitch. This is such a cool stitch, and to me it looks so impressive when you have a little mirror nestled in some thread on your piece of embroidery! I have never tried it myself before, so I will definitely have to get this one done!

Here is the link to the stitch on Pin Tangle, and here is the link to the original Flickr group.

After you do your sample, don't forget to post a photo to our Flickr group, and then come here and let us know so we can go look at it.

Happy Stitching!

Hello All, My shisha stitch sample in now on Flickr. I could not find my mirrors, so I used buttons and a bit of abalone shell.
Girl, you are on the ball! And putting me to shame! LOL Your shisha samples are very pretty. I really love the way the abalone shell looks nestled in the thread.
Thanks Lisa,

I am actually about 8 stitches ahead now. I had 5 days staying with my father after he came out of hospital. I only had to see to meals for us both, so I had plenty of time to stitch. I wanted to be ahead as I am doing Sharon Bogon's Personal Library of Stitches starting on Oct 6 and that will be a lot of stitching! I also have at least 2 weeks of full time work beginning Oct 5! When I was working full time last year, my stitching suffered!
Oh, such a good idea. I even have some antique buttons that would be great, or some small clayboard to draw on like they do the scrimshaw that would be wonderful, and a tiny pewter woman's face I couldn't figure out how to attatch. This may take me awhile so I'll post back in a couple of weeks when it's done.
Looking forward to seeing what you do especially with the pewter faces.
sisha stitch worked on felt with wool using sea glass in place of mirror here.
I used some mirrors and tikkas and done shisha stitch. Have a look.
