This week's stitch looks like our old favourite buttonhole completed in a circular form. The main link back to Sharon's notes are here and last year's samples here

while searching for more info about it one of the web sites I visited said that to obtain an even stitch it is best to use a fabric that is tightly woven..

The stitch dictionary link is here

Stitchopedia doesn't look too clear but here are the line drawings for those who prefer them

As usual there are many samples from quieter moments here and here

Hope you will excuse the shortness of this upload but I am unbelievably flat out and it was a quick note or no note... looking forward to seeing what everyone does with this stitch

Well, Cinzia - My first sample is done already. I wanted to try something a bit different from basic trials of threads. I do hope to find time top try some of Elizabeth of Quieter Moments ideas.

Well Ruth your sample sneaked in when I was flat out last week and for some reason I missed it. I love the creative way you have combined the different stitches and sizes.... motivation and ideas for others, that is me, to emulate

Thanks Cinzia

It are not exactly buttonhole wheels, but I made a buttonhole oval and a buttonhole snailhouse. This little project is not finished yet, but as I will use other stitches for the finishing I thought I should share it yet.

Interesting. I love to see works in progress. The final product often is nothing as one would expect... so I shall watch the developments and see how your mind works. Do you plan ahead or simply do whatever takes your fancy at the time?

No planning this thime Cinzia, but sometimes I do plan the whole thing beforehand.

I tried some motifs with the Buttonhole Whell stitch. I like it, because you can play with it.

Your samples are lovely. Are you making a crazy quilt with the pink and the yellow ones?

Thanks, Cinzia. Yes, the pink and yellow ones are on a CQblock.

I've been doing some Buttonhole Wheel stitch, but I am not going to be able to get a photo until next weekend. My husband left the camera at his brother's and won't be going back over until Friday. I didn't do a great deal of it. I tried to make one of the flowers with several on a stem with the bottom ones being larger than the top ones. What is that plant called?

This was one time when my Aida cloth was not helpful. A lot of my circles were flattened. One thing, though, I taken to collecting lids. I've found a sports drink lid, a medicine bottle lid, and a hairspray lid. I am looking at the shape of objects much more closely these days!
