Wow half way there. Not many still going but there are some really stayers among us and so the postings continue. Perhaps after we finish someone may decide to start TASt again. Must say very generous of Sharon to provide us with all of this info and for the few still sewing the inspiration is also handy.

This week's stitch is the half chevron and step by step instructions are also available.

There were only 19 samples in last year's pool... numbers dropping all over the place unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing what we/you can do with it.

Boy, have I fallen off the wagon. I haven't been on stitchin' fingers since before the holidays. I will be on vacation next month so maybe I can catch up on a few of the weeks that I missed.

good luck with it. Mind you 'm further behind than you. the one thing I enjoy about posting the new stitch each week is that I do make an effort to read about it and check out all of the previous samples. Very enticing but still no time.

Well, I have played enough with half chevron stitch. I have sample 1 and sample 2. I must confess to working ahead at the moment as I am going OS for >5 weeks next Friday. I am having a stitching few days. Cinzia, have you been on your cruise yet?

Sample two is my favourite.. probably because I am a very ordered person.

Have a good time on your trip. where are you going?

I leave next Thursday and so no stitches will be uploaded until l I return. I think you are the only one who is completely up to date. There are several stitchers but all have a few stitches to catch up by my latest reckoning and I am certain they would appreciate the break.

I am going to South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. Where is your cruise to?

Sounds fantastic. Paul would love to go to Africa but the political situation there scares me.

We leave Sydney next Thursday, then sail to Cairns, the Whitsunday Islands, Darwin, Bali, somewhere else and finally Singapore. Looking forward to the relaxing and cruising.

Are you taking any sewing?

Reply to This

Of course... I always take sewing. I am at present working on some miniature patchwork blocks and have been busily cutting fabric for several weeks. good thing about being able to take sewing on planes these days isn't it? The only no no is scissors and with everything precut I have no difficulties.

What is your take along project.. embroidery or do you have another hobby?

I am not taking any stitching - I am doing a 6 day bushwalk and then a camping trip. I have trioble keeping my hands clean enough when i am camping. If I can get a pair of socks started in the next few days, I may take my knitting. Enjoy your cruise.

er ... I kind of fell off or whatever ... have been too busy doing other stuff to get around to keeping up with this ... and I am just about to go overseas for a few weeks (Dubai, Turkey and Egypt ;-) so I won't get around to doing any more TAST stuff until after I get back ...
I never got around to adding my stitches to the flickr pool when I did them the first time, but I did blog about them on www.aykayem.blogspot.com ... my half chevron stitch is somewhere in the middle of this post - http://aykayem.blogspot.com/2007/10/eek-i-need-to-catch-up-with-blo... - along with a pile of other stitches - lol
hmmm - I notice that in that blog post I mentioned something about how I would be able to catch up with some of the stitches at the Canberra Quilters retreat ... I think I did a tiny bit of my TAST stitching there - LOL ... I am planning on going to that retreat again this year (I missed it last year) and was wondering what I should take to work on - methinks I might take all my TAST stitching stuff that I did the first time, and the list and all the instructions for the stitches I have forgotten what they were/how to do them, and have a bit catch up and maybe even lay them out and work out how I will put all the bits of stitched felt together ... unless I end up with some other project on the go and want/need to work on that instead - LOL
btw,
I thought about taking some of the felt and threads/etc that I have been using for TAST with me on my overseas trip - but then I realised I would want/need to take a whole pile of printed instructions and stuff and I only want to take a small container of sewing, not a whole big pile of stuff and a folder of paperwork ... so I am organising another idea I want to work on, to take with me instead ... I may or may not actually get around to doing much work on it while I am away - I will probably be too busy being a tourist to get much sewing done anyway ... lol (which is part of the reason why I only want to take a small amount of sewing stuff ... the other reason is so I have more room in my luggage to bring fabric/thread/beads/whatever else I buy back with me!)

Hey Andrea I love you... it is great to have like souls when one is drowning or so far behind that you think you will never see the headlights again :)

I am not sure when TAST will start up again as most people appear to be behind or away. I will start a discussion and when some bodies return we can get going again. I know I won't get into it soon as I have just way too much on my plate.
