Week 16 - Palistrina
Not sure if this should be a 4C week but figured that people had had seven weeks off so I would upload and keep everyone going.
Sharon commented on her blog that many had found the oyster stitch a challenge and so she had chosen palistrina stitch for the 16th week as it was to her a rather relaxing stitch. Step bystep instructions are found in her online stitch dictionary.
Now I must admit that I haven't tried to actually sew it but it does look rather similar to buttonhole which I found an easy stitch.
For those people who like the line diagram instructions here it is in stitchopedia.
Last year's group completed 19 samples but other people have uploaded their samples and these are also worth checking out. Love the starfish.

I have just uploaded my sample of Palestrina Knots. I had fun with this stitch and found more to try than I anticipated. Elizabeth of Quieter Moments has heaps of different ideas for Palestrina Knots. This is the end of the school year for me and life is not so busy even though I am doing the Christmas cleaning. Our household goes from 3 to 8 this week!! until 28 December.

didn't the spiral turn out well... like many of the other stitches I am yet to start but am inspired by looking at your samples. thanks for the other link also.

That turned out well. Don't you love these little postcards they allow you to try out things in a quickly finishable size and then actually use it rather that having the sample lying around having no purpose.

I have so many stitches to catch up with, it seemed to be the best thing to do. I use the cards a lot, so I can never have enough. Will be lovely to have a stash of them to use rather than having to make them up every time

Well, this had me stumped, until I got into stitchopedia and followed the line diagrams. Then I went to Mary Corbet's video and even though it looked different again, it all started to fall into place. So, I have a little line of knots on my sample cloth, which I have labelled Palestrina, for better or for worse - ha!
