Permalink Reply by JoWynn Johns on March 2, 2012 at 19:19 I've just posted an example of vermicelli couching done years ago on a crazy patchwork pillow cover. http://jowynnjohns.wordpress.com/2012/02/29/couching/
Dont forget to leave a comment on Pintangle - as that is the main hub and people are interesting in what others do.
Permalink Reply by Margaret Blank on March 4, 2012 at 22:06 I'm a little slow off the mark this week...took me a while to be inspired, but here is my Week 9 Couching block:
The 'random' necktie this week had a very different print on it. It may be difficult to tell, but I couched gold cord around a couple of the watch faces, using a single strand of cotton floss, and herringbone stitch. Then I couched the red ric-rac with 3 strands of green cotton floss, using fly stitch. The other fabrics include the lining of the tie (dark bit, centre right), gold silk (bottom strip), red shiny fabric of unknown origin (tiny triangle on the left) and green velveteen (large triangle on the left).
