The TAST challenge started in January 2007 and finished in December 2007.

Each week Sharon took a stitch and suggested people experiment with it, push it a little and see what possibilities the stitch holds.

Here is a direct link to the main content page of the challenge. From here you are able to venture out and check each stitch separately.

Is this embroidery stitches that we are making?
I know crochet and knitting stitches, and cross stitch.

This might be a nice challenge for me, since I have some issues with sewing needles (grin).

Do I start from day one, or do I jump in on Tuesday, next week. I have to find some type of canvas to
make my stitches on. I know I have some somewhere.
Yes this is embroidery and you can either start from week 1 if you want to do herringbone or just jump in next Tuesday. Week 4 of every month doesn't have a posting so that is left as a catch up or further experimentation time for everyone too.
Glad to have another beginner here.
Thank You.

I will try the herringbone then, and If I manage to make it look like a stitch, I will move on to the next one.
I found a table runner that my mother had weaved, and it is just plain fabric.

I made the herringbone and chevron stitch, and now I am ready to go and buy proper fabric,
tomorrow.

This is fun, doing just one stitch at a time.
I would love to see your mother's fabric. I find hand woven material can be so wonderful .. particularly someone who doesn't do everything 100% perfect.
