I'm communicating with someone about doing a guest post on my blog.  She offered to help me figure a stitching design issue out and I asked if she would do a guest post that would help others like me.

As a result I've been thinking maybe there are others with blogs who have expertise they would not mind sharing.  I have a series of guest posts in mind that some of you might be able to help with.  Here's one of them,  "I use xyz Stitching Software and do/don't recommend it and here's why."  In a number of the groups I'm part of this is a recurring question, but the discussion is not very organized or helpful.  I thought I might create a questionnaire to help guide the reviews.

Anybody interested in creating a Guest Blogger Directory or Library or discussing this idea further?

My favorite Blogging Guru has a wonderful page about guest posting.  TimeThief says guest posts didn't increase her readership significantly (she didn't probably need any help on that score), but it did increase the quality of content and level of expertise her blog offers.

Guest blogging is great way to get their readers to your site. Given that you want to have info conveyed, I think that having a series of generic questions that you;d like to see answered as guide lines would be great way to give someone a jumping off point to write a blog. Guest blogging is a win-win... you get more people to your blog and you get answers to your questions, and the guest blogger gets a new audience. I have found that if the person is writing a posting from scratch,, then it's best to ask somebody who has about the same level of following as you do. I got blasted once by asking someone who was much better then known than I thought that she was, and she was insulted that I had asked her. If the person is  biggie in your field, and they've already written something on our topic, then you could ask if you could reprint it on your blog, giving them credit and linking to the original site, of course.

That's my experience with guest bloggins..

I like the guest blogger idea. My blog has been lacking in the past few years as I have had to deal with medical issues. I wonder what guests I should invite and what topics they would discuss. What info would be maintained in the guest blogger directory?
