Hello Everyone,

We have been very quiet.  I reckon are fingers have been busy stitching.  In the last couple of days I have been playing and creating.  LOL   I have made my first 2 tyvek beads, and what I will call Oyster shells.   YES I did it and I think they are acceptable.  LOL   I sure do plan to make allot more and in many different colors.  Love them and so much fun to make.

I also have been doing some wet wool felting and stitching pebbles and shell accents to put in my seascape I plan to felt my seascape in the near future.  I will add 2 photo and I would love to know what you think.

Hugs Judy

Judy , you are very busy. I like the things you have made, especially this blue white things with the tiny beads. Looking forward to your next creative works!

Very nice!  I bought a book and it had instructions for making those beads in it.  Hope to try it myself before long.

Your wet wool felting is very nice, this kind of work is new to me. How is this done?

Hello Iris,  I have a Wet Wool Felting Tutorial on my blog.  I have several posting about wool felting. I think if you go to my blog and in the search area you put wool felting you will come up with more.  I love it allot.  Very easy to do.  Iris do you have wool roving available to you.  I think the Falkland Islands are off your coast and the Falkland Wool Roving is becoming very popular.   Also if you google wet wool felting you will get lots and lots of tutorials on wet and needle felting.  Also if you google images you will find lots of lovely wool felted images.   Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any more questions.  Hugs Judy

Thank you Judy.

Hello Iris, You are welcome.  OH,  BTW I put photos of my wool and Tyvek beads on My Page on Stitching Fingers if you want to read more detail about them. hugs   Judy

Thank you Judy.

Judy, very nice beads and wool felting! I haven't tried either technique, but I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hello Susan,   Thanks for your nice comment.  I just love wool felting.  I do both but really prefer wet wool fellting which I used on the beads I showed you all accept for the the big one on the far right.  I like it so much I could not wet felted it.  LOL   OH, BTW I discovered felting while living in Germany attending an Easter Market.  I would not leave  The Wool Lady Booth until she gave me a wee lesson in needle felting.  I was immediately hooked.  VBG   Hugs Judy

Once again I am gone for the day and lots of activity is going on here.  Judy I love your beads and the felting.  I would like to know about the beads.  Are they scratchy or is the surface smooth?  Are they flexable or stiff.  Did you use the thick or thin Tyvek?  I will go over to your blog and see what is going on over there!  Love those oyster shell looking beads!!!!

Hello Judy

Your tyvek and wool beads are wonderful

Severine

Hello Deb.   There you go, you should be at home instead of out and about.  LOL    I am very happy both you and Severine like my tyvek and moon beads.  They are soooooooooo much fun to make.   They are scratchy not smooth at all.  After you paint the tyvek fabric you take the two sheets and off set them and roll them very tightly around a skewer stick and either stick a pin in to keep them together or wrap a metallic thread around them to keep them together.  I used metallic thread.  Dab a bit of glue on both end of the metallic thread.

I also used a very wee bit of angelina fiber  around the painted tyvek too.   Then you start heating your wrapped tyvek creation.  You heat both ends first to set them and then roll your skewer around and around heating as you go.  Keep the heat gun about 6 inches or so away for your skewer.   The tyvek will melt bubble around the metallic threads this is the effect you want.  When it starts melting you will see the two different colors of paint you used.  I used two colors of paint.   You can cut your stripes of papers two different sizes.  I used 1 1/2 inch and 2 inches.   Then I used 1 and 1 1/2 inches.  Depending on how you wrap them is how long your bead will be.  I had lots of fun experimenting.  VBG   I  plan to used them on my upcoming seascape.  VBG  I hope someone else will give them a try.   They are very unique beads and you can used them for anything.

Happy Easter to all My Pebble Friends.  Hugs Judy
