Hi Elaine.  Mostly I just use general purpose sewing thread that matches the fabric as closely as possilbe.  However the colour of the thread can affect the apperance of the beads so sometimes I use a colour thread that enhances the beads.  I sometimes so a test stitching on the side of my fabric to determine which colour gives the effect that I want.

Thanks for your comment Carol.

Hi Elaine, I also use general purpose sewing thread, 100% polyester, doubled.  I do use silamide or similar if I'm making stitched beaded adornments.  I've never really had the 100% polyester break or wear though.

I have used beading thread but will now take Carol-Anne`s and Linda`s advice and move over to sewing thread, will be a better match for the beads etc

I always thought regular thread would wear through and beads will fall off. Nice to know. Thanks for your comments hugs

Well I did some research on this topic and found out that nylon beading thread is the best. Nylon thread is specifically designed to hold the knot fast even when you cut the ends right up to the knot's surface.  In  addition  to being durable and thin enough to fit every bead , this special thread after tying 3 knots  the thread can be cut and the tail does not have to be weaved in.
