Oh my! My computer harddrive failed, so I fell behind on keeping up with everything, and WOW look at how much has been done since the last time I checked in here! Amazing!!

Susan, the 3-dimensional flower is fabulous!! I wish I could see it up close and in person, because I bet it is even better in real life! I love the centipedes!!! So cute and playful!

Brinda, I love the hints of red that you added to Susan's block! At first glance I wasn't sure how I felt-- that maybe they drew the eye away from the photo a little? but after reading the explanation, I am totally enthralled and feel that the symbolism is perfect! I think that at first glance I just wasn't expecting to see the red because my eye had become accustomed to thinking of that block as a "neutral tone" block, and so the red popped out at me more than it would have if I'd come in with fresh eyes. As I look at it more and more, I see how evenly weighted and spaced the red hints are throughout the block, and I like that there is a serendipitous suggestion of "red" in the rightmost yo-yo flower, and that helps keep the eye moving around the block, I think.

What a long way each of the lovely blocks have come! I could not have imagined how much of each stitcher would show up in the end result!! Thank you all for sharing your comments and photos! I find them completely inspirational and invigorating! :)

I'm in the summer CQ RR group 2, and I am having a lot of fun (we all are, I'm pretty sure), but we haven't been nearly so chatty! Thank you for letting me tag along with your journey through all of these wonderful posts!

Tahlia, I'm so pleased you like my flower. It was a fun experiment. If you'd like to send me your addy, I'd be happy to send you a few more pics. (susancussatyahoodotcom)

Like you, I was at first a little startled and surprised by the red Brinda had added to Kim's block, but, the more I looked at it, the better I liked it! I agree Brinda did a super job moving the eye around the block with all the touches of red. It's so interesting, I think, to read why a design or motif was chosen by the stitcher. I like to know......guess I'm a nosey parker. lol

I would love to have some more eye candy with your group showing their pics. I'd love to see more and learn more!

Hugs from Suz

Finished Lynn Sletta's block, saved a little room for Kat because she wanted to add more. It'll be on it's way back to you tomorrow, Kat!
Cat, I especially love the addition of the leaves and the spider! It all looks fabulous!

Cat, that's wonderful! I love all the leaves....nice and subtle, but adding a lot to the block. The touches of red are nicely distributed, too.  I love the eye candy.

Hugs from Suz

I love those leaves too!  Very nice work!!
Oh goodie! this block is SO cool! I love what all have added! I see a tote bag for MYSELF for my nessessary essentials ( iPod, KINDLE, etc...ha) when I go traveling! I know I'll get lots of questions when I carry it! Thanks so much for all the hard work on it!
Oh cat great job, look fantastic. I recieved the next one to work on the other day, hiugs Kat

Lynn I love your block! it will make a great tote bag!

Oh my goodness....How gorgeous my block is! Have been travelling on work so couldn't go on line. Thanks Kim and Susan. I wanted a garden and I have got a wondrous one. What amazing seamstresses you both are, and I love the thought that has gone into my block. We are going into a 10 day break for a very big festival in our part of India called Durga Puja, so will post both the blocks after the break. I hope you like what I have started on yours Susan....I will post a picture before sending it to Kim. The 3 d flower looks amazing...I really love how you use your tatting. I used to do it many years ago but have forgotten now. I do a lot of crochet though....but never thought of using it on a block.

I'm so glad you like it, Brinda!  (whew) and I'm sure I'll be delighted with what you've done on my block! Looking forward  to seeing pics!  Your block was mailed Tuesday, but I was so excited to get it into the mail, that I forgot to include the little block booklet Kim made.  Argh!  But I'll write up my bit and send it on to you later. Sorry about that.

I think your crochet would be beautiful on a block.

Have a wonderful Festival!

Hugs from Suz

Hey Susan and Kim! My block arrived today!!! It is really gorgeous. I feel quite emotional at this whole RR. We are all strangers, but have still taken the care and effort to create something perfect for each other. THANK YOU both. I will add my bit and complete it, then post a picture. I have decided to make it into a bag to use for special occasions! This RR has been an amazing experience! I feel I know you two through your work and lets hope we can do other things together in the future!

We have had 10 days of holiday and the postal services are all topsy turvy, but I have been working on your block Suz and will post both together to Kim at the end of the week! I will upload a picture before I send the block!
