I am fascinated by some of the more unusual techniques that turn up on the items in Ichiroya, especially the fukusa.  This one features a flying crane with a fluffly neck and a stitch I can't make out on his left wing feathers/

Any ideas how they have been stitched?

A novel effect that I have not seen before on the hoari(?) of the person on the right.

This fabulous obi is on Ichiroya at the moment.  For those with VERY deep pockets who collect kimono or obi it's one to add to the collection.  For those of us with more modest budgets, check out the embroidery, it's amazing.
