There is a group within this Stitching Fingers site that is already dedicated to Scrumbles.

But for those of you here wishing to see some examples, here are a couple of my own crocheted scrumble pieces haphazardly joined together to create a new "fabric".

- i only know single and double crochet right now LOL so not sure about the yarn, i know they are soft fluffy kind LOL not the heavy wool  (i didn't look at the size before i took the wrapper off :(   - i'm a total newbie right now just plunging in LOL....thank you for helping me... Suzanne...i'm so glad i found this new website :-)

There are two I am trying to do - one is a sweater (already made) and I'm cutting a scarf and attaching it to the arms - then I want to crochet them together to blend

the other one - (i haven't taken a picture yet - it looks awful LOL - it['s a cashmere sweater - I'm trying to do a crochet attached panel to the front part - that's why i like your button hole idea - yaaay1

thank you Suzanne - I will work on that tomorrow ...i just learned to sew this year LOL ...at 55 ...i think art begins when the kids leave home LOL ...hope everyone is having a good evening ..:-)

Hope it works for you.  The yarn looks pretty thick.  If all else fails, you could try edging the sleeves with a round of double crochets and then sewing them on with a wool needle.   BTW, chain is just a single crochet.   Good for you for

Oops again!   Good for you to be tackling something new.  Since I've retired from work I find that I still love all the handcraft things I used to do when I was younger - embroidery and crochet especially.   But I don't think I'll be taking u[p macrame again any time soon!   On the other hand... never say never!

thank you Suzanne, I'm going to start that now...let's see if I cn get it done before dh (dear husband) gets home LOL

Your examples are lovely! How is the plans for a scrumble along coming? I would love to be a part....

Cy, I have started to make some scrumbles, just firing them into a bag at this stage to evolve into something later on!!  Mind you there is a challenge set up on FF Crochet (another group that I belong to) which I would love to get started on, even got a theme going on in my head.

They are so much fun to make even though at first I found it hard not to try and make them all very uniform and the same, but I am getting the hang of it I think LOL!!

I'm in that group too Fiona, I took part in their challenge this year, which is where you may have seen my blue freeform example before. I'm also the person who created the book for their challenge last year, and I have said I will do it again next year so I look forward to including your artpiece in it too. It is great to see all the different styles and ideas on the theme.

I'm just about ready to get our "Scrumble-Along" started in the Scrumbles group here.

:::::::::::waving hand:::::::::::::: sorry to have posted my sweater here :( ....I'm trying to get the hang of what goes where ...LOL ...thank you for your patience......question - so a scrumble is a bunch of different crochet pieces "scrumbled together" to make something ???

Hey Pamela Joy, you don't have to apologise, lol, we love looking at projects, no matter where they are, hahaha.

A "scrumble" is just one of those different pieces of crochet that you mentioned above. Then all the individual "scrumbles" are crocheted together, perhaps using even more "scrumble-style" techniques, or oversewn together, or with lacy chains joining them, whatever way works for the piece.

A "scrumble" can even be used on it's own, either attached as an applique would be to a sweater or hat, or used as an embellishment in some other style of work.

The "Scrumble-Along" is about to start soon over on the Scrumbles group.

scrumble room - OK :::::thanksgiving is over...Christmas is coming soon.....My sewing/art room is a "jumble" I need to get my Scrumbling on" LOL!

I have added a crochet edge to a fabric circle before.I used floss to do a buttonhole stitch all around the circle and then crocheted in the buttonhole stitch. It worked great.I don't know if this is the correct way to do it but it worked for me.

I have started scrumbling.. i find it very relaxing and enjoy the surprize of seeing the creation. I am a shift worker and I find even on days off I am up in the night.. Freeform stitching and crochet is a great activity at those times when I do not have the concentration for more precise work.
