Hello All,  I was so pleased to stumble across this site!  I am a beginner in embroidery and am teaching myself from the internet and books. There is so much I want to try!  I posted some pictures yesterday and have already received kind comments from others.  Thanks for that, I need the encouragement :)  as I am somewhat intimidated by all the incredible work I have seen in the photos!  I can't wait to go through all the tutorials.

Welcome, Joanna! Your work is lovely! One of the things I love about embroidery is that there's always something new to learn or discover! In that, we're all beginners no matter when we started.

I'm in NC too -- just south of Raleigh. Where are you located?

Hi, Joanna,   Welcome to stitchin......  I'm sure you will learn so much and gain pleasure from viewing the work of all these talented members :)

Best wishes and stitches!

Barbara

I live in Durham, Trinity Park area.  Thanks for your kind words. I have just joined the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) and have not yet been to my local chapter meeting but am looking forward to meeting on a regular basis with other people who like to embroider too.  I have been teachng myself for years just from books and the internet and think my skills will get better if I have a group to bounce ideas off of and who can help me with pointers.
